Atlanta, GA — Georgia Conservation Voters Executive Director Brionté McCorkle issued the following statement upon the release of President Biden’s announcement of the Build Back Better Act Framework:

Today, after thousands of Georgians and millions across the nation called, knocked on doors, and demanded action, the President has finally announced a framework with the strongest action the United States has ever taken to combat the climate crisis.

Georgia Conservation Voters is excited to witness this momentous day in American history. The Build Back Better Act will push our country to a greener, cleaner future while providing millions of well paying jobs that’ll help revolutionize the economy of Georgia and protect our incredible state from the disasters of climate change.

We’re proud of the work that President Biden and Congress has done, and grateful for the contributions of Georgia’s Senators and Representatives who pushed, promoted and fought for this bill and the historic investments it makes in combating climate change, investing in communities of color and promoting environmental justice for all.

We urge Congress to act swiftly and pass the Build Back Better Act so that President Biden can sign it into law.”
